Easily spent 2 hours there browsing through my childhood and wanting to buy everything. It made for a great day trip. Can't wait to go back. Employees were nice and helpful.
This place is awesome! Any and everything you could need or want and some. Travel back in time checking out toys and candy from your childhood. Prices are good and the employees are very friendly. Plan on spending a bit of time there, because you will lose track of time reminiscing on the good old days as well as today's favorites.
Very nice. Had seen their commercials on Buffalo TV and always wanted to visit. If you can't find it there, you don't need it. Many speciality items and hard to find vintage items. Tons of housewares. Stop by and see them at Christmas time as I understand the place is literally a winter wonderland of decoration. Huge selection of penny candy as well. Staff very friendly and very helpful. We definitely will make a drive there (for us it's an hour one way) again and again. Prices good but the experience is worth any price. Great job to everyone there.
Wonderful products, many of which are nostalgic. Prices are fair. Old fashioned candy that will bring back fond memories. Great toy section. Something for everyone, especially those who need a unique gift for that unique person who many be hard to buy for.
Undoubtedly one of WNY's treasures, this place is like Amazon: Live! This place has a dancing plethora of stuff you want, whatnots you should try once, and surprises you didn't even know you needed to make your life whole. I'm referring, of course, to the gifts, candies and toys, and kitchen gadget areas respectively. You must go to Vidler's, bro.
This is an old fashioned variety store full of odds & ends of interesting merchandise. We spent a few rainy day hours perusing the various rooms enjoying the atmosphere and ambiance.
You cannot visit East Aurora without at least browsing!! From the time I was a child, Ronnie nearly 30 years later, this place will always be an attraction. The quiet town would not be the same without it!
So nostalgic!! I travel quite a bit and it's cute vintage type spots like this is cute little towns that are priceless. I bought $40 worth of candy from decades ago very cool. All kinds of cool trinkets and treasures here. A must.
Vidler's 5 & 10, in historic East Aurora, NY, is a 3rd generation family run business. Vidler's was founded in 1930 and they bill themselves as The Largest "5 & 10" Variety Store in the World. I have shopped at Vidler's a number of times over the years for unique and nostalgic gifts under $50, and when my wife isn't looking, I'll grab some candy out of several apothecary jars and stash it in my coat pocket (after paying the cashier of course). Vidler's consists of four connected two story buildings which contain toys, a sewing and crafts area, a cooking area, board games, T-shirts/sweatshirts, holiday knick-knacks and much more. I didn't know there were so many permutations of the Clue and Monopoly games e.g. Big Bang and Game of Thrones editions, etc., but Vidler's has them. While there is limited parking on the street in front of this store, there are more parking spots in the back of the building and a back entrance into the store. Vidler's is located in the main section of town with nearby restaurants and specialty shops. Vidler's is approximately 1/2 mile from the Fisher-Price HQ and toy store as well as the Roycroft Campus and Roycroft Inn. For more information about Vidler's as well as pictures inside their store, you can go to their website. My family has fun spending an hour or more browsing the shelves/counters at Vidler's, and then we walk to other shops and/or a restaurant afterwards. If you bring your children into the store, I suspect you won't come out empty handed. If you keep in mind that this is a 5 & 10 store, you may be surprised by what this 5 & 10 has to offer you.
