Vidler’s a Big Winner in 2023 Best of 716 Contest

You know how proud Vidler’s is of our yodeling pickle?

Well, we’re even prouder to announce that Vidler’s 5&10 has been voted Number 1 in several categories of The Buffalo News’ third annual “Best of 716” contest:  

• Best Toy Store;  
• Best Gift Shop; and  
• Best Vintage and Thrift Shop.  

We also were a favorite Best Home Décor Store, finishing in the Top 3 in that category.

The “Best of 716” contest showcases Western New York’s favorite businesses and is determined by popular vote in 11 categories:  

• Food and Restaurants
• Health and Beauty
• Home Services
• In the Community
• Medical Treatment Services
• Professional Services
• Retail and Shopping
• Weddings

Last year, Vidler’s was voted Western New York’s Best Toy Store and Best Vintage and Thrift Shop.  

This year, we added another notch to our belt by winning Best Gift Shop, too.

What makes us so good at these things? Let us count the ways:

• Among our toys are the Yodeling Pickle, the Bozo 3-D Bop Bag, and Raggedy Ann and Andy.
• Among our gifts are the always popular and festive Beef on Weck and Buffalo Chicken Wing Christmas ornaments; and
• Among our vintage items are Gumby, Pokey, and an assortment of old-school tin lunchboxes.

(We don’t know which category our “Delinquents with Combs” folding pocket comb fits into, but we wanted to mention it just because it’s so cool.)

Bottom line: We cleaned up in the 2023 Best of 716 Contest. Sure, it would have been nice to also win “Best Everything Store in the Whole Galaxy.” But that category didn’t exist.  

So, we’re proud enough to yodel at the tops of our lungs—but, um, we probably won’t. Because we want to be Best Neighbors, too.
