10 Ways to Give Summer a Great Sendoff

As summer winds down (Booooo!) you have some pretty good options for keeping your mind off Old Man Winter’s approach.

You could check out the many late-season events on tap in Western New York, including:  

• The 12th Annual Taste of East Aurora, featuring 30 participating restaurants, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, September 9, Main Street between Olean and Elm. (Street closed to traffic.)
• The Borderland Music & Arts Festival, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., September 15-17, Knox Farm State Park.  
• The WNY Fiber Festival, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, September 16, Classic Rink, Riley Street

You could give a child who’s going back to school  

• a genuine, licensed tin lunch box with Elvis on it, from Vidler’s;
