Vidler’s a top nominee in four “Best of 716” categories

We here at Vidler’s are just as proud as a puffed-up Giant Sock Monkey to announce that our store is among the top five nominees in four shopping categories in The Buffalo News’ third annual “Best of 716” contest.

Winners of the contest, a showcase of Western New York’s favorite businesses, will be determined by popular vote in each of 11 categories:  

• Food and Restaurants
• Health and Beauty
• Home Services
• In the Community
• Medical Treatment Services
• Professional Services
• Retail and Shopping
• Weddings

We’re in the Retail and Shopping category, where we’re currently

• third among Gift Shops;
• fourth among Home Décor Stores;
• third among Toy Stores; and
• second among Vintage and Thrift Shops.

So, we’re kind of kicking buttock.

But we haven’t won yet. For that, we need your vote.  

Voting starts at 1 a.m. July 6 and continues through July 24, via the online contest page or the new “Best of 716” Text to Vote.  

You can vote once every 24 hours per category on the digital ballot and once per day per category via text for select businesses. Winners will be announced Sunday, September 24.

Last year, Vidler’s was voted Western New York’s Best Toy Store and Best Vintage and Thrift Shop. This year, we’re going for Best Everything Store in the Whole Galaxy. You know—like an everything bagel, only a store. And in the galaxy, not a plastic bag.

Giant Sock Monkey just told us there’s no such category as Best Everything Store in the Whole Galaxy, and we don’t like to rile Giant Sock Monkey, so we’ll take his word for it. Ha, ha! Niiiiice Giant Sock Monkey!
